Who we are

We grew up as race fans in Illinois with much of our childhood spent at Santa Fe Speedway and later Grundy County Speedway and LaSalle Speedway. We loved racing! As a kid, we built our own race track ovals in the dirt, had a pit area full of Hot Wheels and MatchBox cars, and created our own race day programs. Then, life hits, things change, and we spent almost a decade away from racing.

In 2017, we came back to it, and the pandemic in 2020 did not slow us down. That is when we decided to go Live on Facebook for our family members and close friends who could not attend. What started as a way to connect family and friends with racing turned into Top Row Racing Media a few years later.

Our Facebook Live videos turned into, “You should make a YouTube Channel,” and on January 15, 2022, Top Row Racing Videos started. We had no idea where we were going with things nor did we expect it to be where it is today. This journey has been more than we expected!

The name “Top Row” comes from where “X” marks the spot on the top row out of Turn 4 at the South Bend Motor Speedway. We researched names to make sure it was not common or used by many, and we came across only one other person who used the name “Top Row” in Oklahoma. We reached out to them as we hoped to have permission to use the name, and they granted that permission as they rarely used the name and page.

Videos was replaced with “Media” as our race day coverage was a huge success and well-received by many. We adopted “Top Row Racing Media” during Championship Week around the area, and we’ve seen incredible social media growth!

In 2025, our Facebook page reached more than nine million people in the year, a new high for us, after more than eight million had content come across their News Feed from our page in 2024.

One thing we know is that this journey has been a fun one, and we look forward to every opportunity we have to enjoy a race day at a local short track!
