The Little Kalamazoo Quarter-Midget Club has produced several top level drivers, which includes NASCAR driver Carson Hocevar, and one driver who used to compete against Hocevar and has found great success is Jerry Osterhouse.
At the age of six years old, Osterhouse jumped into the Quarter-Midget scene and won multiple championships at Little Kalamazoo. Then, at 12 years old, Osterhouse made his Late Model debut and earned his first career victory when he was 13 years old. As Osterhouse carries on the legacy set by his father, a multi-time champion who also raced alongside a NASCAR competitor and legend Dale Earnhardt, "Torch" Osterhouse, he's made his mark on short track racing with success across multiple classes and tracks.
Whether it's Kalamazoo, Springport, Hartford, M-40, or his home track, Galesburg, Osterhouse has found his way to victory lane many times. Osterhouse will race whenever, wherever, and he's always a force wherever he shows up. Crown Vic? He wins. Late Model? He wins. Enduro? He wins. The push to be the best driver on the track, or at minimum be in contention, comes from his calculated driving style where every move matters.
It is at Galesburg where Osterhouse has had the most success in the Late Models as he raced to back-to-back track championships in a class which boasts multiple former champions, legends, and rising stars. It may not always make it to the water cooler conversations, but quietly, Galesburg has perhaps one of the most competitive Late Model fields around. Osterhouse has not only shown he's the star to chase, he's shown that his Late Model can compete anywhere after his win at Springport's Michigan Cup. That's in addition to one of his biggest wins in his career--The Freedom at Galesburg.
As the torch is passed from one generation to the next, Osterhouse's success is a continuation of a legacy established long ago, and it's one Osterhouse has no plans to let down. From Victory Lane at Little Kalamazoo to championship trophies at Galesburg, Osterhouse is only getting started.
