Jerry Pierman

When Jerry Pierman arrived to the Kalamazoo Speedway in 2024 for full time racing, he may have been a bit of an unknown to many of the Friday Night fans---maybe some of his fellow competitors, too. Pierman made occasional trips to Kalamazoo for the bigger races prior to 2024 and always had his car in position to win with several Top 5 finishes.

Pierman largely raced at Springport where he claimed multiple Street Stock championships and later back-to-back Late Model Championships. Pierman and fellow pit pad neighbor John Trudell always put on a show at Springport, and the two often traded wins week after week.

One of the knocks some would give against drivers from Springport was car counts--"They can win there, but can they win here?" What Springport may have lacked in quantity was never an issue of quality--Springport had top of the line drivers across all of their classes, and Pierman's regular season at Kalamazoo in 2024 showed as much.

The talented Pierman was in points contention all season and won on April 19th right out of the gate and finished no worse than 10th (twice). In many cases, Pierman was right there as he chased the likes of Billy Shannon or was being chased by Shannon and a host of other contenders. The two put battled all year, and in the end, six points separated the two championship level drivers.

In 2025, Pierman fought the car a little more and some nights had many frustrations, but a win finally came on August 22nd after a longer drought than Pierman was used to. That championship night win was the best the car performed all year, and the hints of a turn came one week prior when Pierman went Hoosier-to-Hoosier Shook and VanZile after a similar run in mid-July. Pierman put a cap on the season with a Super Shoe win, too.

For those who've followed Pierman, his success isn't a surprise. He's a next level racer. For those who've been able to watch his growth at Kalamazoo and only know him from The Zoo, they're seeing that Pierman can race with the best Late Model drivers around on any given night.
