𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩
There are many ways to get into racing, and each path offers its own doors to take the next step into new opportunities.
Koty Geyer has grown up around racing with visits to tracks all around the region and beyond. Geyer has seen it all as a fan to now as a photographer and videographer.
Throughout his time in racing, Geyer has worked for the largest organizations as a videographer and social media contributor to his time as an announcer at Mottville and New Paris. He's even made an appearance on the mic at Kalamazoo.
A few years ago, at a time Geyer considered a step back, he created his KG Media page. In his travels, he's made trips to Canada and across the United States. When the Sprint 500 Tour needed social media coverage, he stepped in to provide content. Likewise, he provided coverage for CRA down at Bristol. Then, he found himself behind the camera for Great Lakes Super Sprints as their lead camera operator. When he's not behind the camera, he has his own equipment where he captures epic shots on and off the track with a unique perspective and fine eye for the best shot. In his journey, he's not afraid to take risks and be creative as he perfects his craft.
In racing, drivers have avenues to move up to the next level of competition, and in media, those paths are there, too, but similarly difficult to reach. It comes with the right time and place, and Geyer has the talent to be at the highest of high levels whether that's for an organization or race team. His work ethic, desire to learn and grow, and dedication to his craft is something that comes natural--it's a skillset that can't be taught but has to already exist within someone. In an era where everyone has a camera in their hand, Geyer's work shows that good old fashioned photography is an art form that can be undervalued and under appreciated yet one of the most unique things someone can do. There's no one perspective that's the same, and Geyer always has an eye to find the most unique things in a uniquely different world that is short track racing.
