Mini Wedges Win Second March Motor Madness Championship
For the second time in three tournaments, the Mini Wedges were victorious in the March Motor Madness Tournament Championship after they earned more votes than the #1 MCR Dwarf Cars which finish the tournament as Runner-Ups for the second time in a row.
Although the Mini Wedges were a surprise winner in 2023 during the inaugural March Motor Madness Tournament as they entered with Wild Card status, this time around the Mini Wedges locked in a third seed and coasted through most of the tournament. Their closest battle came in the Final 4 against the defending tournament champions, the Quarter Midgets, with ten votes separating the two.
In a field full of big cars from Outlaw Super Late Models to Monster Trucks and everything between, for the third time in a row, it was the future racers that stand atop the mountain for winter tournament bragging rights.
In a winter tournament challenge which started in December, six different champions were crowned with two other wild card qualifiers to set the rest of the field of 24, then 26 after a four way tie. Now, the conclusion of the March Motor Madness Tournament, on the same weekend the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tournaments are settled, the Mini Wedges once again have winter bragging rights with the arrival of the 2026 outdoor season in Southwest Michigan and Northwest Indiana.
As a part of their victory, Sunday, April 5th, will feature an evening of Mini Wedge races starting at 5 P.M. with the Mini Shoe from 2025. Other highlights will include onboard cameras from the 2025 Rumble in Fort Wayne.
