David Lux
𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩
Fans and drivers of the Kalamazoo Speedway as well as some surrounding tracks see firsthand how hardworking and dedicated David Lux is on any given night, and somehow throughout the night there never seems to be a "slow down" button. His work ethic and "jump into any situation" is a skillset that enables him to stand out even when he's surrounded by many hardworking individuals who have the same goal in mind---to make Fast Friday's at the Zoo must see.
Although there are many moments in a season that anyone could pinpoint Lux moments, his situational awareness and quick action during the Intimidator 100 stood out to many.
As a battle took place up front in the early stages of the Intimidator, Mike Williams had to exit into the infield pits as smoke came from his engine area. Before Williams could fully park within his pit area, Lux was right at the window net to get Williams out of the car as flames developed under the hood. Kalamazoo Track Services arrived at the scene quickly and stopped any further damage, but it was drivers, crew members, and fans from around Turn 3 and 4 who saw it all go down that noted Lux's quick action in the moment.
Always on the go, Lux has many things to manage. He assists drivers with grid placement in the infield, talks with drivers as they pull up for guidance, helps with driver placement on the track during line-ups, drives a tow truck and sometimes the Pace Vehicle, and still somehow finds moments in time to bust a dance move, celebrate a driver's success, get fans on and off the track, and perhaps from time to time make a driver laugh with his antics.
When he's not at the track to work, he still finds himself at the track to work as a pit crew member and occasionally will take the wheel himself to race. While those race moments of his own may be every now and then, his passion for racing is evident as is his impactful work ethic so many wish they could duplicate.
One thing is clear when Lux is around---he'll keep you on your toes, and everyone around him is better because of it.
