Evan Verduin

When Evan Verduin made the move from Mini Wedges to the Hornets in 2022, it was only a matter of when, not if, he'd make his mark on the competition and show the depth of talent that existed then, and continues to exist today, from the Dad & Lads team.
Even on a night where Evan was inches away from his first Hornet win, the high he had from the checkered flag to the low of a speeding ticket during the race did not stop Verduin or the team from the next step. That first win eventually came, but it was the next move which set the stage for a tradition to continue.
Verduin's father, Mike, raced in the Street Stock class himself and built his first car. That car then moved over to the Stremme camp which saw legend Cindy Stremme race it for years as the pink 36. Verduin was able to get the car back into the family, and the team spent the 2023 off-season in rebuild mode from the ground up.
Verduin made his debut a few short months later where he first showed his new ride at the South Bend Auto Show. Not only did he win a Heat race in 2023, his confidence in one of the toughest classes around also grew. Then, in April 2024, Verduin earned his first ever Street Stock Feature win and has added a few more since then in Northwest Indiana.
One of those victories came at New Paris in 2025. The annual Flagger Boy event draws stars from all over the region, and the high side was a little bumpy for drivers who tried to get the second lane going. In the closing laps of the Last Chance Race, Verduin made magic happen and secured his ticket to a stacked "Jake" Feature which boasted nearly one dozen different track or series champions like Jeff and Brock Ganus, Logan and Austin Maynard, and Bug Schisler. Verduin did not shy away from the competition and finished 15th in his first ever Flagger Boy event.
With wins across three different classes in his young career from the big stage of the Rumble in Fort Wayne as a Mini Wedge racer to a highly competitive Street Stock division, Eazy-E is only getting started.
