𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩

For Joel Areaux, he rarely, if ever, seems to be in a bad mood. Before he inherited the mic from legend Jason "The Mouth" Seltzer at Kalamazoo, Areaux raced in the Zoo Stocks/Front Wheel Drives and was highly active on his social media pages as he geared up for each season.

Before and after his races on any given night, Joel could be seen in the stands as he interacted with fans. Whether he finished last, popped a tire, or smacked the wall, his high energy was infectious. Anyone who interacted with him might wonder, "Is this all a show," but Joel is as authentic as they come. Connections and people matter to him, and he's simply having fun. A night at the race track is a night to be happy, and however the night ended, Joel was going to leave with a smile on his face.

The former DJ's personality shines bright, and in 2024, Joel took on various roles at Kalamazoo and impressed many. That led to Joel becoming an announcer for the Mini Wedges, and he took on the role of Victory Lane interviews. His high energy isn't for show--and fans quickly found enjoyment in his passion.

After Jason Seltzer stepped away from Kalamazoo, the mic turned to Joel, and that meant a larger role as the Voice of Alamo Valley. Joel was nervous, yet excited, and everything came natural to him. On the mic, Joel makes every moment feel important and exciting--at the expense of his voice on some nights--but that's what many of the fans have enjoyed. Some announcers try too hard and it's obvious, but Joel is himself. That much is evident for anyone who has the chance to talk with him.

At Mini Wedge events, Joel's personality also comes to life, and for the kids, his big moment feel makes their day even better. From starting line-ups to race commentary, Joel shines the light bright on the future stars of the sport.

Now with a new baby at home, life has been busy for Joel. It would be understandable for him to miss a beat, but that's not how Joel operates. No matter what he does, or how he feels, everything he gives will always go above and beyond.
